We believe that tokens are a revolution that facilitate the exchange of goods and services and should be available to any developer without obstacles. Therefore, creating a new type of Fungible & Non Fungible tokens in Stockmind is as simple as performing a Google search. You should only consume an API indicating the tokens specifications, such as the number of units created or its description.

We have created an installer package for Stockmind so you can download the platform and deploy it on your own infrastructure. You will be the only one in control of your tokens that you manage. To automate this process, Stockmind uses Terraform and Ansible technologies. In this way you can deploy the platform automatically. You just need to follow the instructions provided to configure the deployment scripts. The installer creates and provisionates the machines for you.

In the case you use Amazon AWS cloud services, the minimum infrastructure you will need to deploy Stockmind is the following:

  • A t3 micro instance for the commander.
  • A t3 large instance for HAProxy and the API (Backend written in Scala).
  • A t3 small instance for the database (PostgreSQL).
  • A small t3 instance for the Ethereum node.
  • Optional: A t3 large instance for Kibana (Data log manager).

You can send tokens to any Ethereum address, but we know that sometimes the addresses are hard to remember. For this reason, in Stockmind you can send tokens to whomever you want, for example, your address on Twitter or your email. If the receiver has previously signed-up in Stockmind, the platform will resolve his Ethereum address for you and complete the transaction. If the receiver is not already registered on Stockmind, the transaction will remain pending for the receiver to enter for the first time, and could be cancelled while it is still pending.

Twitter is not the only identity provider supported by Stockmind. The login component used by the platform is called, it supports dozens of identity providers and authentication methods like user/password, Windows Active Directory, Microsoft 365, delegated login on twitter or facebook and much more.

This means that you can send tokens to email addresses, a company tax identification number (i.e. Spanish FMNT certificate X509), Office365 accounts or any person listed in the Active Windows Directory of your organization. It is only necessary to choose the identity provider you want and configure it on the platform.

Security of the Stockmind platform


One of the strengths of Stockmind is the security for both API consumption and platform administration. There are security measures at the following levels:

  • Ease to comply GPDR regulation. Stockmind is designed to deploy it in your own infrastructure. This means you can choose an European data center for deployment that complies with the highest security levels.
  • HTTPS encryption: Stockmind exposes the API using a HAProxy proxy that encrypts all connections. This means that all endpoints are exposed under HTTPS and the information always travels encrypted.
  • Administration. Stockmind installer configures the machines in the safest way possible. The access by SSH to the different instances is not possible, beacuse the installer configures the machines so that the corresponding ports are not open. Only the HAProxy instances and the Parity/Alastria node have Internet access (only output), with the rest of the machines completely inaccessible from the Internet.

If it is required to carry out some type of manual maintenance intervention or update in any of the machines it is possible to access them through the commander instance. A certificate is needed to access the commander. This instance is designed to be turned off when the platform does not need maintenance intervention, which minimizes threats exposure.

Allows transparent on-chain and off-chain transactions


Stockmind allows you to create and manage tokens both in public and private networks. Sometimes, public networks like Ethereum do not offer the user experience our customers demand, and sending tokens can be expensive and time consuming. To solve this problem, Stockmind will carry out transactions off-chain whenever is possible.

This means that transactions with tokens in Stockmind using public networks such as Ethereum will be real-time and cheaper, because they do not necessarily pay for the using of the public network. If the platform can't finish the transaction as an "off-chain", it will issue it "on-chain".
